Four departments called out to building fire

Fire crews battled a building fire in Wake Forest on Tuesday morning at Wait Avenue. At least four departments responded to the fire, which was contained inside the building.

Body found in trash bin of area rest station

A death investigation is under way at a rest area off Interstate 40 in Johnston County. Officials with the sheriff’s department say the body of a middle-aged man was found in a trash bin.

Duke University Hospital’s youngest patients will move into their new award-winning facility on Tuesday. The new Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit will provide 13 beds to sick kids.
